FROM THE ARTIST:
For the first time ever, I am hosting my own bus tour of the murals I have painted in Atlanta!
In the past, I have been hosted by Atlanta institutions, including Agnes Scott College and Emory University, to guide tours for their school communities. This time, I am curating and leading my own tour on October 19, 2025, with ticket sales open to the public, and lots of treats included!
Painting murals in Atlanta allowed me to serve as a monument-maker to immigrants in the city, asserting our presence by reclaiming walls as landmarks that belong to undocumented people. From my first mural on Buford Highway—the immigrant heart of Atlanta and where I grew up—to my mural at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, I confront the idea of who is worthy of public celebration in the home of the nation's largest Confederate monument.
I invite you to have an up-close and intimate experience with this work as I unveil the struggles and triumphs behind my murals. I will share the backstory and creative process behind the artwork while fostering an open and organic dialogue with fellow travelers. The conversations will continue on the bus while en route to the next work of art.
This invitation is also a call to action for solidarity. As attacks on my people continue to escalate, I am grappling with the repercussions of this violence both as an artist and activist. By joining me on this public art journey, you are helping me sustain myself and give back to my community. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to mutual-aid campaigns in support of people who are navigating the cruelty of immigrant prisons.
